The abbey on the island

Lambay Abbey was an abbey situated on an island off the coast of Dublin, Ireland.

Around 879, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir raided the monastery to secure the supplies needed to rebuild the Rathdown trading post north of Dublin.[1]
