Behind the scenes

The Kybernetes' Sword is a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey which shares the same model as that of the Makhaira, another weapon in the same game. Both are recycled models of the Calamity Blade, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Kybernetes is a variant romanization of the ancient Greek word κυβερνήτης (kubernḗtēs), meaning a 'captain, steersman, pilot', or 'navigator'. It's derived from the word κυβερνάω (kubernáō), which means 'to steer, to pilot, to drive.'
