Khentkawes Hideout

Khentkawes Hideout was an Old Kingdom ruin situated, south of the Sphinx, and east of the Pyramid of Menkaure as part of the Menkaure's pyramid complex. In the 1st century BCE, the ruins served as a base for various bandits in Giza.[1]

In 48 BCE, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa explored the hideout in order to rescue Rashidi, a fellow scavenger of Oba and Nebti, who claimed he had possession of a valuable ring they'd found. After rescuing Rashidi, Bayek was informed that another one of their 'brothers', Turo, had taken possession of the ring and ran northwest to the Hemon Mastaba.[2]
