La Maupin was a renowned epeist and singer who became a member of the French Brotherhood.
At some point before the French Revolution, Louis-Joseph d'Albert de Luynes and three other Assassins were sent by the Mentor to recruit La Maupin, but due to D'Albert's misogynist comments they failed. La Maupin attacked the Assassins, defeating them and seriously injuring the shoulder of D'Albret. The Assassins made their report to the Master Assassin Maréchal, with d'Albret stating that she had no potential as an Assassin Initiate.
