Jonathan Davenport was a Boston-based Master Carpenter-Joiner who, around 1666, took a young Thomas Kavanagh, Jr. as his apprentice.[1]

Jonathan quickly realized the natural skill Thom possessed, and when the time came for Thom to leave on his own journey five years later, Jonathan willingly provided a good reference for him, enabling him to find work with Peter Beckford.[2]
