Johannes Gensfleisch zur Laden zum Gutenberg (c. 1400 – 1468) was a German goldsmith, inventor and printer.
Gutenberg started work on his printing press in 1436. 3 years later, Gutenberg and his assosciates invented their first wooden press in Strasbourg. The invention evolved greatly over the following years which allowed for the mass production of printed books. In 1455, Gutenberg printed an estimated two hundred copies of the Bible.[1]
