Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte (26 January 1763 – 8 March 1844), later known as Charles XIV John of Sweden, was an high officer in the French Army who later became the King of Sweden, founding a new dynasty.
During the French Revolution, Bernadotte cultivated a rivalry with Napoleon, even stealing his girlfriend of the moment.
