John Whiteside Parsons (born Marvel Whiteside Parsons) (2 October 1914 – 17 June 1952), better known as Jack Parsons, was an American rocket propulsion researcher at the California Institute of Technology.

He joined Aleister Crowley's magical order, Ordo Templi Orientis.

On June 17, 1952, while having planned a flight to Mexico, Parsons' lab was blown up by Abstergo Industries, with Parsons himself still inside. Though the explosion did not kill Parsons immediately, he died several hours later of his injuries.
