"We submit ourselves to eternal servitude in service of a grander fulfillment. We submit the world to itself it being a product that feeds life to life and death to death."
―John Standish, 2013.[src]

The Instruments of the First Will is a pagan cult who seemingly worship Isu beings as their almighty. Their primary mission is the release of Juno, freed from her imprisonment in the Grand Temple, upon the world.[1] It is their belief that humanity should submit itself to Juno and become slaves to the First Civilization once more,[2] in effect acting as her agents on a global scale. However, the agents are sure that, after their death, they will become part of The Grey, a post-mortem paradise created by Juno for the loyal humans where they live on happily.

In operation around 2013, one of the Instruments of the First Will's primary agents was the Sage John Standish, a reincarnation of Aita, who had been a member of the First Civilization and the husband of Juno. During his time at the Abstergo Entertainment office in Montreal, John distributed the collective's manifesto throughout the building via quick response codes on sticky labels.[1]

In 2015, Sigma Team member Violet da Costa, secretly a member of the Instruments of the First Will, talked to Juno informing her that the Shroud of Eden 2 was in her possession.

Beliefs

Being an Isu pagan cult, the members of the Instruments of the First Will believe that humanity should submit themselves to the First Civilization once more. Their primary purpose is the release of Juno from her imprisonment.

Unlike the Templars or the Assassins, who view the Isu as a precursor species to humanity, they view the Isu as deities to be worshiped. Their believes are somewhat similar to the Templars. The only difference is that whereas the Templars seek to take over the world in a supposedly benevolent attempt to save humanity, the Instruments of First Will wish to take over the world so as to turn humanity into salves for the First Civilization.

It is their firm belief that after their death, Juno will reward them by allowing them into The Grey, a post-mortem paradise created for her loyal followers, where they will live on happily. However, it is still unknown whether they are attempting to only resurrect Juno or other members of the First Civilization as well.

Trivia
