Concept art of Icewall

The Icewall was a heavy shield inspired by the cold realm of Niflheim from Norse mythology. Rumored to have been literally cold-forged in the endless icy expanse, the shield was covered in mysterious runes that glowed blue and was said to be able to withstand the mightiest of blows.

During the Viking expansion into Anglo-Saxon England in the 9th century, the shield was made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relieved her memories.[1]
