The Human-First Civilization War was a catastrophic conflict between the First Civilization and those Humans who had developed an immunity to the controlling Pieces of Eden. Little is known about the details of the war, however the distraction of war did prevent both parties from observing the impending danger from the heavens; by the time they did, it was too late.

The first war was a fictional war between early Humans and Those Who Came Before. Much is unknown about the war, but it led to the First Civilization not seeing the signs of a pending apocalypse which led to the destruction of almost all of both races and much of the earth.
The war ended abruptly, and with far greater casualties on both sides than either had expected. Working together, both parties recovered from the devastation wrought in the final days of war, and begun preparations to prevent such a catastrophe happening again.
Causes
Seen in the truth video, Humans were being used as a work force (slaves) by the first civilization. They used the Pieces of Eden to bend the will of man and make them work, but the Half-breed Humans seemed to have developed an immunity towards the Pieces of Edens' effects, allowing two early Humans called "Adam and Eve" to escape Eden (or the Garden of Eden as named in the Bible) and bring with them a stolen Piece of Eden, one of the Apples (there are numerous Apples of Eden). This most likely caused the war and also inspired the story of the Garden of Eden, with the first civilization being the creator, or "God", who threw them out. Templars use the other story as a cover up to control humanity.

Soon many humans were set free and rebelled against the ones who came before. Minerva says "We were great, but you were many."It seems that those who came before had better technology but the humans were many and built to survive in any conditions. This survival instinct may have been later known as evolution.
The First Civilization, small in number but advanced technologically, at some stage found themselves in need of a docile workforce so as to support their world. Rapidly advancing the genetic evolution of already existing species, humanity was born. Initially, each and every member of humanity was born with a chemical neuro-transmitter deep inside their brain, that made them susceptible to the illusions and mind controlling powers of the Pieces of Eden; however over time, inbreeding between humanity and their "gods" caused some to be born without the neuro-transmitter active, or indeed present.

The war was cut short as the massive solar flare from our sun hit the Earth. Another quote of Minerva is "We were so busy dealing with the war on the grounds, we didn't notice the warnings from the heavens before it was too late." (needs verification)

The war ended abruptly, and with far greater casualties on both sides than either had expected. Working together, both parties recovered from the devastation wrought in the final days of war, and begun preparations to prevent such a catastrophe happening again.

The seeds of war

The First Civilization, small in number but advanced technologically, at some stage found themselves in need of a docile workforce so as to support their world. Rapidly advancing the genetic evolution of already existing species, humanity was born. Initially, each and every member of humanity was born with a chemical neuro-transmitter deep inside their brain, that made them susceptible to the illusions and mind controlling powers of the Pieces of Eden; however over time, inbreeding between humanity and their "gods" caused some to be born without the neuro-transmitter active, or indeed present[1].

At some point during this time, two humans – named Adam and Eve – escaped from their masters with a Piece of Eden known as the Apple, and so begun a series of events that led to war[1].

The war and catastrophe

Though technologically superior to their creations, the First Civilization were heavily out-numbered by the numerically superior humans. Somehow, during this conflict, the Pieces of Eden lost their power over humanity, thus preventing a quick end to hostilities, though it was possible that a natural immunity developed among the humans whose forefathers had interbred with their gods[1].

Eventually however, disaster struck. War on Earth had prevent the First Civilization from observing the impending dangers from "the heavens" which eventually led to an abrupt, and bloody end to the conflict. Both sides suffered heavy losses, and much of the planet was burnt to cinder. Brought to the edge of extinction, humanity and the First Civilization came to peace, and started working together to rebuild their world[1].

Aftermath and legacy

―Minerva[src]

Both sides suffered cataclysmic losses duing the final days of the war, with both being driven to te very brink of extinction; and whilst the First Civilization were still far more technologially advanced than humanity, not even that could save them from the inevitable. Humanity however, who had been built to survive, were more fortunate, and through sheer numbers promised to return stronger than ever[1].

Realizing that the disaster that had struck the Earth once already was due to strike again, the First Civilization constructred a number of Temples, which would help prevent the event occuring again. Alongside these Temples, the First Civilization also built the Vault, which would serve as the beginning of the path to the Temples[1].

Very little evidence of the war, or even the First Civilization survived into recorder history. By the late 12th Century, all knowledge of the First Civilization had been forgotten, although their Pieces of Eden continued to affect the world in a myriad of ways; being seen as religious artifacts, or as a means for a number of miralces. By the early 21st Century however, a number of First Civilization technologies had been re-discovered and reversed engineered by the Knights Templar, to provide the Earth with a number of technological advancements, foremost among them being the Animus[2].
