Horses
When you start your first proper quest: assassination of Tamir, you get the option to travel across the Kingdom by horseback. Three horses wait outside Masyaf and you can ride whichever one you like. All Horses are the same speed but they are all diffrent colours. The horses waiting outside a city all keep the same colour when passing through diffrent regions, however, the non-purebred horses change colour when passing through diffrent regions. Its unclear why, but the speed and other stats of the horse remain the same when you pass through one region to the next, even if the colour does not. Horses outside citys will always be black, white or ginger.
Controls
To control a horse, walk up to it and you should mount it auto-matically, if not press Feet button. Use Feet button to blend when on a horse: While blending only templars (the ones which are counted as you kill them) will attack you and you can pass guards without attracting attention. Pressing only the forward button will make the horse trot, now holding the low profile button and forward will make the horse canter. Holding forward, low profile and feet button makes the horse go into gallop. Press attack buton while standing still to rear the horse, causing fear in civillians, press attack while holding low profile draws your sword and you can attempt to fight guards on horseback (feet button sheaths your sword). To jump, simply trot, canter or gallop up to a jumpable object and the horse will jump, there is no need to press feet button.
Mastering moves
After practising, you may be able to do the following:
- Jump forward off your horse into a haystack. - Do a 180 degree turn while rearing - Kick out at guards behind you - Jump off your horse and attack someone with the hidden blade (requires LOTS of practice)
You can use eagle vision while on a horse to, but beware that if knocked off your horse, it may run away from you and you will have to find it or mount another one. Only the sword can be used WHILE ON A HORSE.
Glitches
PC- I do not know of any glitches on PC, if you do please edit this artical.
Xbox 360- after Altair dies, the horse may resporn next to him with his back legs sticking out, you can still ride him and his movements dont change, but it looks weird all the same!
