Hannibal Barca (247 BCE – c. 182 BCE), known as simply Hannibal, was a renowned Carthaginian military commander. He was defeated by the Roman general Scipio Africanus at the Battle of Zama.[1]
Biography[edit | edit source]
During the Second Punic War, Hannibal served as one of the Carthaginian leaders against the Roman Republic, competing for supremacy in the Mediterranean.[2] In one battle against the Romans in the Ionian Islands, Hannibal was aided by the misthios Kassandra and the Chinese youxia Wei Yu, who were pursuing the Roman general in search of a tablet in his possession. Hannibal thanked Wei Yu for his aid and, having a similar goal in stopping the Roman general, requested the youxia's aid in killing the general.[3]
Legacy[edit | edit source]
In 2012, Clay Kaczmarek included Hannibal in one of the Glyphs inside the Animus for Desmond Miles to find.[4] That year, he was also included in a mnemonic set in Abstergo Industries' Project Legacy.[5]
