The sunken Gyldan Sparrow

The Gyldan Sparrow was a merchant ship in use during the late 9th century. Its owner and captain were extorted by Vicelin, a member of the Order of the Ancients who kept taking a share of the wares brought into England by the ship.[1]

Once, upon returning from Ethiopia with spice and candies, as well as a priceless necklace, the Gyldan Sparrow was sunk near the docks in London by Vicelin. With the currents being too strong to pull the wreck out, its valuables were left untouched until Eivor Varinsdottir braved the waters and looted two chests from the sunken ship.
