Gregory of Tours (c. 538 – 594) was the Bishop of Tours in the late 6th century.[1]
During a pilgrimage, Gregory discovered a cult dedicated to the Theban Legion who used the dust from the soldiers’ graves to perform healing rituals. He became convinced of the miraculous powers acquired after their death and recorded this information in one of his accounts.[2]
