Gaspar de la Croix was a Templar agent and master engineer, who lived in Renaissance Rome. While in the Campagna district, Ezio saw a man who was hiding from Gaspar behind a stone archway. The man said that Gaspar was trying to kill him, and Ezio decided to help out. The man said he would sneak up to Gaspar, while Ezio would flank him, however as soon as the man tried to make his way to cover, Gaspar had shot him, leaving Ezio to give chase. Ezio reached Gaspar's cliff-side residence, where he assassinated the engineer.
Gaspar de la Croix appears in the Multiplayer of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, under the title of Engineer.

Although the profession of sniper didn't exist yet in the 16th century, Gaspar was something of a pioneer. His skill with a firearm spared him any close confrontations on the battlefield and Cesare made use of his skill to take down easy targets at the beginning of a fight.
