Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben (17 September 1730 – 28 November 1794), also known by the title Baron von Steuben was a Prussian-born military officer who served as Inspector General and Major General of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
Von Steuben worked at Valley Forge, drilling the troops in basic military tactics and teaching them basic camp layout and sanitation, stopping the spread of disease at the encampment.
During the Battle of Petersburg in 1781, Baron von Steuben was assisted by Assassins sent by Ratonhnhaké:ton to ensure his safety.
