The 13 Vendémiaire uprising was a Royalist rebellion in Paris on 5 October 1795.

Napoleon Bonaparte, a young artillery officer of the French Army, defeated 25 thousand Royalists with only five thousand troops under his command, using 40 cannons. However, one of the Royalists managed to survive, and attempted to assassinate Bonaparte.
