France is a country situated in Western Europe, and shares a border with northern Italy. During the Renaissance, it was ruled by King Louis XII from his capital in Paris. By the year 1500, Louis XII had aligned himself with Cesare Borgia and was aiding him in his attempts to unite Italy.
