Ferrara is a city in the Emila-Romagna area of Northern Italy.


During the Renaissance, Ferrara was ruled by the Este family, from their palazzo of Belriguardo. In 1506, Ezio Auditore da Firenze travelled to Belriguardo to confront Lucrezia Borgia, the Duchess of Ferrara at the time, and retake the paintings stolen from him after the Fall of Monterrigioni.
