Federico da Montefeltro, also known as Federico III da Montefeltro (June 7, 1422 – September 10, 1482), was one of the most succesfull Italian condottiero during the Italian Renaissance.
In 1454, Federico laid siege to the city of Monteriggioni in Tuscany under the orders of the Florentines. In fact, he laid siege to the city to find the sanctuary underneath the Villa Auditore. However, Mario Auditore, Monteriggioni's leader, managed to subdue the attackers with his leadership.[1]
