Alaat was a member of Templar Order and a prominent figure in Damascus. Due to his actions in town, he made an enemy in a gypsy woman named Fajera, who, in 1190 asked the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad to assassinate him. Alaat was killed by Altaïr while visiting a bath house.
