The Entrance to the Underworld was a cave system in the Parnes Mountains in the region of Attika, Greece. Located in the southern tip of the region, this cave was used by the Followers of Ares as a staging ground.
A natural formation, an underground river passed through the dungeon.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra explored the place, killed the clan chief, and claimed their valuables.[1] It was also here that Kassandra and Barnabas found Leda, the latter's daughter.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The river running through the cave system is reminiscent of Styx, the boundary river separating the world of the living from the Greek underworld in Greek mythology.
