Emily was a chambermaid in the household of Edward Kenway. Her sister, Violet, worked next door for the Barrett family.
In 1735, after Edward was murdered by mercenaries, and his daughter Jenny was kidnapped, Violet told Emily she had heard Jenny screaming about a traitor, and that a man with a West Country accent had subsequently threatened her to keep quiet.
