Edgar (Old English: Ēadgār; c. 943 – 975), known as the Peaceful, was King of England from 959 until his death.

During his reign, Edgar gave a plot of land in England to King Kenneth III of Scotland, which would serve as the residence of the Scottish monarchs for the next 600 years whenever they visit England.[1]
