Ealwyn was an Anglo-Saxon woman from Lincolnscire, England who lived in the 9th century.

Biography

In the 870s, Ealwyn was in a constant state of mourning over the loss of her cat Sphinxy from over the past eleven years. One day, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan found her sobbing and helped her build a shrine for Sphinxy. After acquiring some of Sphinxy's items from Ealwyn's house, Eivor completed the shrine for Sphinxy. Ealwyn thanked her for her assistance as well as for helping her process her grief.[1]
