A Dragon is a mythological creature existing in many folklore and other mythologies.
They were often described and depicted as a reptilian species with scales, horns and having a type of magical fire breath. A unique type of dragon is the Chinese dragon which is depicted differently.
Mythology
In Norse mythology, the dragon Níðhǫggr was said to live between the roots of Yggdrasil and gnaw on them, only speaking with the squirrel Ratatoskr who was said to run along the tree between Níðhǫggr and the eagle at the top to convey messages.[1]
Legacy and influence
During the 9th century Eivor Varinsdottir obtained a shield and gathered two gear sets named after the creature.[2]
During the early 18th century, pirate Alonzo Batilla bought a brig named after this creature and collected a holy figurine of a Chinese dragon.[3] Later that same century, a tavern in northern Boston was often visited by members of the Colonial Rite of the Templar Order, the Green Dragon Tavern.[4] Around the same time, during the French Revolution, Assassin Arno Dorian gathered a rifle bearing the creature's name.[5]
Assassin twins Evie Frye and Jacob Frye gathered two cane-swords in 19th century England, with both canes having a figurine of a Chinese dragon at the top.[6]
Animus mods
In 2020, while reliving Eivor's genetic memories through the Portable Animus HR-8.5, the Assassin Layla Hassan could modify the Animus interface and allow for a variety of skins to be applied to her horse:
| Image | Name | Description | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firedrake | A much larger member of the drake family, having grown enough to bear a rider upon it's back... if the rider can muster enough courage to try that is. | Reda's Shop / Dragon Knight Pack |
Layla could also modify the animus to change the appearance of Eivor's raven Sýnin to look like a drakeling[7], wyrmling[8] or another creature resembling dragons, called Scales.[9]
