Ajax the Lesser (died in 420s BCE) was a man who claimed to be the legendary hero reborn, living in the village of Alponos in Lokris, Greece during the 5th century BCE.
During the Peloponnesian War, the man met the Spartan misthios Kassandra. She escorted him to town. After he got a helmet from an imposter claiming to be the "Eagle Bearer", he tried proving his immortality by letting himself be set on fire by Kassandra, resulting in his death.[1]
