Long is the list of warriors lost to the bloody clan wars that ravaged Rygafylke, but few will be remembered with the same fear and loathing as Kjotve the Cruel.

Kjotve's rise to prominence from a relatively insignificant clan was fast and brutal. Some have said he was helped by a secret, distant allies, but those voices were quickly silenced.

He privately wonders whether his son, Gorm, will prove too weak to take Rygafylke himself and so is determined to beat the land into submission before his final day.
