Fire seemed like the most obvious element to simulate the life-supporting energy of warm-blooded animals. The boar and wolf varieties were among the first to find practical applications. Though these creatures burn bright, their manifestations are relatively short-lived and exposure to intense cold or sudden dramatic drops in temperature can trigger an early demise.

Íssvín and Íssulfr

Through the research and development of the fire-fueled beasts, Hel and her elementalists were able to engineer their antithesis: unnatural animals utterly devoid of heat. Liker their fiery kin, these cold-based creatures possess shorter lifespans than their natural counterparts and their constitutions are more susceptible to bursts of electricity.
