During his time in Rome, Nicolaus Copernicus, a Renaissance mathematician and astronomer, became the focus of a Templar plot. A former Templar himself, the Prussian visionary abandoned his Order after they refused to share his research and was marked for death.
As he preached his beliefs on Capitoline Hill, he was attacked by a large hoard of Borgia soldiers. Luckily, the Assassin Ezio Auditore was in the vicinity and intervened. Ezio saved Copernicus and escorted him to a secure location south of Capitoline.
After hunting those responsible for ordering Copernicus' murder and racing to eliminate the remaining attackers, Ezio met with the astronomer a final time as he observed a lunar eclipse from the North quarter of Rome's Campagna District. After a brief sharing of theories, the men went their separate ways.
