A young woman best known for assassinating the radical journalist [[Jean-Paul Marat]] in 1793. [[Charlotte Corday|Corday]] knew that Marat was leading [[Jacobins|Jacobin]] with a hand in the "[[Reign of Terror]]" and felt his continued provocations would descend [[France]] into civil war. She entered his home under the guise of providing a list of [[Girondists]] that were planning an uprising in Caen. Upon receiving an audience with Marat she stabbed him in the chest as he soaked in a medicinal bath. Corday was executed for the murder 4 days later.
