A young woman best known for assassinating the radical journalist [[Jean-Paul Marat]] in 1793. [[Charlotte Corday|Corday]] knew that Marat was leading [[Jacobins|Jacobin]] with a hand in the "[[Reign of Terror]]" and felt his continued provocations would descend [[France]] into civil war.
