The Database is a collection of data, holding records detailing most things that Ezio comes across in Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. [1] [2]
Shaun Hastings maintains the database, so whenever Ezio sees something of interest, he can flag the Database entry into Desmond's view, for the purpose of gaining greater knowledge about the subject of the entry.
Other Purposes
The Database marks the general locations of Glyphs and Assassin's Tombs in Assassin's Creed II as well as the general locations of Rifts and Romulus Lairs in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
Trivia
- The database commonly has false information on birth years. For example, Francesco de' Pazzi and Vieri de' Pazzi, who are father and son, are stated to have an age difference of 10. This is most likely an error on part of the developers, or, in-universe, Shaun.
- Some of the characters present in Assassin's Creed II do not appear in the database.
