In the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir visited the village in pursue of leads regarding the Order of the Ancients member known as The Adze. Eivor was able to locate the lead in the house northwest of a watermill, uncovering The Adze's identity as a shipwright in Repton named Gunilla.[1]
