Cliff was a pirate captain active in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy.
In 1713, Cliff and his men stole Garnet's ship, then went to his usual place to lay low. Groggy Bill, who had been a part of his crew before, informed Edward Kenway of its whereabouts.[1] Cliff and his men were ambushed by Captain Stewart and a Royal Navy detachment which wrecked the ship, plundered its contents, and killed many of the crew.[2][3]
