The Château Clique was a group of wealthy families in Lower Canada in the early 19th century, and the leading faction of the Templar Order during their time.
In 1832, the Assassin and journalist Ludger Duvernay posted a number of articles accusing the Canadian administration of serving the Château Clique, after which the Clique had Duvernay arrested and imprisoned, even managing to rally the Canadian public against Duvernay.
