Madonna dell'Orto was a church in the Cannagerio district of Venice.[1]
Database Entry
Erected by the Humiliati, a penitential order, in the 14th Century, Madonna dell'Orto was initially dedicated to St. Christopher. When a "miraculous" statue of the Virgin was found in a nearby orchard (Orto in Italian), the church was renamed. The facade was added in 1464.[1]
