Pope Saint Celestine V (1215 – 19 May 1296), born Pietro Angelerio and also known as Pietro da Morrone, was Pope for five months from 5 July to 13 December 1294, when he resigned.

Celestine was the founder of the Celestines. His own funds would later pay for the construction of their church.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • According to the database entry for the Church of the Celestines, Celestine himself funded the construction of the church in 1352. However, this is not possible, as he had died long before then.
