Carlo Orsini was a member of the House of Orsini. In 1496, Carlo joined the condottiero Bartolomeo d'Alviano in a battle against the Papal Army under Cesare Borgia. Joining d'Alviano when the Borgia nearly claimed victory, the Orsini forces helped defeat the Papal Army, and Carlo even managed to wound Cesare's face.
