Carl Hans Lody, alias Charles A. Inglis (20 January 1877 – 6 November 1914), was a reserve officer of the Imperial German Navy who spied in the United Kingdom in the first few months of the First World War.

With very little training or guile, Lody was eventually discovered sending telegrams to Germany using simple codes and at times even plain text. He was arrested in Ireland in October 1914 and executed in the Tower of London the following month, becoming the first person to be executed there in 167 years. Ten other spies would follow his fate in the remaining years of the war, with others imprisoned or executed elsewhere.
