Brunhild (Old Norse: Brynhildr) was a Valkyrie in Norse mythology.
Legacy and influence
In December 872, the Viking blacksmith Gunnar lamented about his lackluster love life, thinking he would never find his Brunhild.[1]
Brunhild had a totem named after him in the popular dice game Orlog, played during the 9th century. The piece "Brunhild's Fury" would multiply axe die for player. The Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan discovered this totem during her travels at East Anglia.[2]
