A Borgia tower burning to the ground.

Borgia towers are large towers set up by the Borgia in Rome to spread their influence throughout the city. Ezio Auditore da Firenze has to confront the tower's leaders and burn the towers down before he escapes by performing a Leap of Faith, in the same manner as with view points.[1] Before destroying each tower Ezio has to deal with a Borgia Leader as they control the towers. Each leader can act differently when they spot you, some of them might flee while others may choose to fight. If Ezio lets the Borgia Leader escape he will have to wait a full in-game day to re-attempt killing him. With each tower blown up, the Borgias' influence decreases in that particular district, which also provides the opportunity to start shops. Crime will decrease as bandits will start to leave. [2] The map on the pause menu identifies the towers as a small castle, unlike the View Points which are shown as an eagle.[3]
