Björn Ironside (c. 796 – c. 820), born Björn Ragnarsson, was a Norse Viking chief and king of Sweden.

Biography

When his father, Ragnar Lothbrok was killed by King Ælla of Northumbria,[1] Björn and his brothers Halfdan, Ivarr the Boneless, Ubba, and Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye plotted their revenge.[2]

Legacy

Björn and his brothers were mentioned by Halfdan in 876 to Eivor Varinsdottir as he reflected on his lost brothers.[2]
