The Bearded Axe

The Bearded Axe, also known as Skeggöx, was a two-handed Bearded axe obtainable during the 16th century. It could be purchased from any blacksmith in Rome. The Bearded Axe was also wielded by most Brutes and Il Carnefice.[1] During his search for the library of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio could also purchase the weapon in Constantinople.[2]

Behind the scenes

It was possible to use the Bearded Axe to get ahold of weapons that Ezio should not have been able to get ahold of permanently, such as the Persian Shamshir. This was done by throwing the axe, and then grabbing said weapon.

Although called a Bearded Axe, in reality a bearded axe was a single-handed axe usually with a slightly curved cutting edge. The Bearded Axe is more closely related to a standard battle axe.
