Although he runs when you try to assassinate him he pulls out a sword and fights you when [[Al Mualim]] creates an illusion of your 9 assassination targets with the [[Piece of Eden]]. It looks quite funny as Abul is extremely fat.
After the guests have settled down, Abul makes a toast to their generosity, then proceeds to lambast them for their hatred and hypocrisy in supporting Saladin. It is revealed that he has poisoned the wine to get revenge on the people who tormented him with their cruel words and bigotry, and he orders his men to kill anyone who tries to escape. When Altair attempts to assassinate him he flees, running strangely fast for a man so fat.

In his dying speech, Abul says that he did not join up with the Templars for revenge, but to create a new, better world instead of pretending to follow a god who called him an abomination.

(Arabic: أبو النقود)

One of the nine people Al Mualim wants Altair to assassinate.

He is the Merchant King of Damascus and the richest man in the city. Abul is known for throwing lavish parties, and surrounding himself with riches and works of art. He despises the poor with a passion and believes they are responsible for everything that's wrong with the world; however, he also despises himself for being "different" (it is implied that Abul is gay). Abul is rarely seen in public, usually only to deliver a speech before one of his parties. Of course, this provided the perfect window of opportunity to get close to the man.
