You know what will happen when the English press gets wind of this.... nothing, absolutely nothing. Do you even understand that it was English killing English (in some cases) during the American Revolution, numerous nationalities took part in that war and all of them were the colonists (don't even get me started on the suffering the native Americans went through). The British Empire had enlisted soldiers from their many colonies too so many of the British Army were made up of subjects from different countries. All of that is history and beside the point because all we have seen is 20ish minutes of gameplay which people are latching onto as the core example of what we will get in the final product. It is too early to accuse Ubisoft of lying and if anything all we can say is we are disappointed they didn't show us more.
