Geez... that's not what I mean. it's like Assassin's Creed Wiki --subcategories--> Characters. I'm not saying Factions category should not have subcategory or such. I stated that If it's put under the parent category, there's no need to put it under a sub category of a parent category. Which means if you put it under the Assassin's Creed Wiki category, there's no need to put it under Characters category because the categorizing system will be messy. You have to either put it under Assassin's Creed wiki Category or Character Category. Why? because Characters category is a sub-category of Assassin's Creed Wiki. - <span style="background:azure; font-family:Trebuchet MS"><font color="skyblue">Silver</font><font color="dodgerblue">Summoner</font></span><font color="royalblue">TaLk</font> 07:38, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

The Assassin's Creed Wiki category is a category of all major categories. After referring to another wiki (the Bioshock wiki again) it seems that they have major categories under their parent category (Characters, Icons, etc.). They have subcategories which are not so major (Splicer icons, etc.), but they (the minor categories) are NOT under the parent category.
So perhaps, instead of putting Factions under Characters, we could actually use the Assassins and Templars (the latter would need to be created). But this creates problems- if a person who hasn't completed Assassin's Creed scrolls to the bottom of Al Mualim and saw "Categories: Assassins, Templars" he might not be very happy. I dunno, maybe you're right. - Elecbullet 18:35, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Why would we need Category:Templar? we already have Category:Assassination Target. Oh well... I'm trying to make the categorizing neater here... so just let me finish my work first and after that we can like.. add in some other ideas. ^^ - <span style="background:azure; font-family:Trebuchet MS"><font color="skyblue">Silver</font><font color="dodgerblue">Summoner</font></span><font color="royalblue">TaLk</font> 02:49, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Parent categories and sub categories[edit source]
Just because it's under the parent category doesn't mean it can't have subcategories... Factions are related to characters. So the faction category should be a subcategory of the characters category.
