==This Wiki and You Part 3: Into the world of Source mode editing==

Source mode editing is very common to Wiki, while editing you may have noticed two tabs at the top that say Visual and Source. Visual is basic editing but the problem is that it doesn't disclose to you Templates, Userboxes or anything that (besides the information) is '''extremely crucial''' in making a good article. This guide will show you not only what is necessary in source mode editing such as '''bolding''', ''italics'' among others, but will also delve deeper into source mode showing you more on templates, userboxes ect. So, let's get started.
==Basics of Headers==
[[File:Header_in_Source_Mode.png|right|thumb]]
{{Quote|After a while, the '''characters I'm writing''' begin to feel real to me. That's when I know I'm '''heading''' in the right direction.|Alice Hoffman|http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/keywords/heading.html}}
Headers in source mode are '''extremely''' basic, to create the headers you'll need to use "=" signs which are required in '''major''' and at some stages, even '''minor''' source mode edits.

The diagram on the right shows the 5 examples of headers, headers are fairly simple and are necessary in maintaining any article in particular, they aid in spacing out and even making an article neater. Most articles you, the reader, have probably seen consist of these headers. As it goes Header 2, Header 3 and so on, it will each be divided into smaller sections of each part of the article.
''Do '''not''' edit this section. It's a work in progress.''

This diagram right here is what your sourcemode bolding, italics, strikes and underlining would look like. It is very simple to use and contrary to some people's belief, source mode editing with things like headers and basic editing is simple if you have a helpful guide such as this.

Userboxes are general to our Wiki, they "spice up" our pages to make them look even more nice and sometimes show achievements. '''We'll overlook these Steps ONE-BY-ONE!'''
<center>Well, be quiet and I'll get to it. Simple, each month there are bound to be ''new'' creations of Fanon so for every month, Fanon will be put up for nominations for '''Featured Fanon''' and the others, will just be the others but there'll be runner up prizes. Like... cake, yes, cake. There will be cake. So just leave your votes in the under their names down here and we'll see which Fanon is soon featured during next weeks post. Enjoy! ^.^</center>

Border-C means Border-Color, you can choose a variety of colors using [http://www.computerhope.com/htmcolor.htm|HTML Color Codes].
<center>'''NOW. Onto the NOMINATIONS!'''</center>

ID is either the text or the picture on the right of the userbox which can vary.

ID-C stands for the ID-Color which can be chosen from a variety of colors using those HTML colors codes which were linked to previously.

ID-FC is the ID Font Color just in case the user adds text to the userbox ID section.
----

ID-S means ID-Size, determining the '''size of the Text in ID.'''
===Graham Cornell's ACFanon:Initiation|Initiation===

Info should be fairly obvious but just in case, to simply put it, it is the main text that goes inside the userbox.

Info-C means Info-Color which is the background color by the previously mentioned Info.
----

Info-FC stands for Info Font Color which is the color for the info-text.

Lastly is the Info-S which is, to put it simply, the size of the Font.

==Linking and Quotes==
----
{{Quote|I think we did a pretty good role, linking, being a sounding board really and a driving force, especially from the bottom up. I think that part of this is bottom up as well as top down.|Richard Rogers|http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/keywords/linking.html}}
[[File:Quotes_and_Links.png|thumb|350px]]
A quotation or quote is the repetition of one expression as part of another one, particularly when the quoted expression is well-known. By using one "[ aswell as ]" on each side leads to an external link. Using two <nowiki>"[[ aswell as ]]"</nowiki> on each side.

<nowiki> For quote, the simplest way to put it is, it goes like this. {{Quote|The Quote itself goes here.|The person who said it.|Source}} </nowiki>
===TheSt0ryTeller's ACFanon:Desperation|Desperation===

==Sourcing and referencing==
#
===Regular Source and References===
#
{{Quote|When using quotes, you must reference them an essay and in an bibliography, or in any article.|Sourcing and Referencing 101|User:TheSt0ryTeller}}
#
[[File:Reference.png|thumb|350px]]

Where it says <nowiki> <ref name="Assassin's Creed II"> </nowiki> at the top, it indicates that the Reference name itself is actually, in this case, Assassin's Creed II whereas where it says <nowiki> "[[Assassin's Creed II]]"</ref> </nowiki> is actually linking the Reference to the page itself. At the bottom, once you place the normal <nowiki> <ref name="Assassin's Creed II" /> </nowiki> it will show up as a small number, the number depends on which order of reference, so if AC: Brotherhood was first, that would be number 1, then if ACII is after it, it's number 2 and so on.

At the bottom of the page, using the second header, create a new section titled Notes and references and add <nowiki>{{reflist}}</nowiki> which will make all the references appear.

order to source images, all users should use the Information template in order to clearly provide all the necessary pieces of information. Whilst it is not mandatory for individuals to use this template, it is recommended. Sourcing your images is a '''VITAL''' part of editing because you may be warned more than once if it continues.
