Several users had added information stating that Io:nhiòte is an ancestor of Desmond. This is unproven. We know that Connor had at least two other children besides her, any one of whom could have been Desmond's ancestor. The fact that her memories are accessible doesn't prove anything, because the genetic memories of Darim were also accessible, even though Desmond is descended from Darim's brother, Sef.
