A whip

A whip is a tool or blunt weapon consisting of a firm rod and a flexible line, designed to inflict pain through swinging motions. Throughout human history, whips have been commonly used to exert control over livestock and slaves or as an instrument of torture, but they do have multiple other applications.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

In 1769, the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré acquired a whip from a slave master she killed in Chichen Itza.[2] She subsequently used it during combat, where she would pull an enemy closer to her and then kill them, similarly to how other contemporary Assassins employed rope darts. In addition, Aveline could utilize her whip to hang foes from an elevated position, or to swing from out-of-reach beams during traversal.[3]
